Our Mission
Collegiate Mom Coalition is a grassroots non-profit organization currently based in Houston TX that serves as a source of excellence for moms pursuing their undergraduate degree by providing scholarships, programs that enhance their education, workshops to fine tune professional skills, access to resources that encourage economic growth and platforms that build social involvement. We are advocates for a family friendly university that cultivates tangible success for women in college with children.
Meet Our Founder
Jasmine J. Robinson
Jasmine started the Collegiate Mom Coalition in 2010 while she was attending Prairie View A&M University as an undergraduate student. She saw a need for organization to support young moms when she herself became a teen mom in 2008 at the age of 19 and again at 21. Statistically, less than 2% of teen moms graduate college by the age of 22.
She beat those odds when she graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Architecture in 2012 and received her Master's of Community Development in 2013. Her mission is to continue to help young moms to achieve this themselves.
Originally from Houston TX, Jasmine Robinson now resides in Houston Tx with her 2 daughters Kenadie 15, Kimora 14 and her Maltese Prince. She is a former committee member of Bossbabes ATX (Future Front Texas), a non-profit organization that hosts event series, showcases, strategic collaborations and professional development programs that provide a platform of visibility, outreach and financial opportunity to 1500+ emerging women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers per year. She was also the 2018 scholarship recipient from State of the Uterus where her organization, Collegiate Mom Coalition was awarded $1,700 and was also the winner of the 2021 Werk It Awards "Barrier Breaker of the Year". In 2020, she was nominated as 'Side Hustleher of the Year' by Heels & Hustle Org in Houston Tx.
Jasmine was also selected in 2019 as one out of 245 applicants for a 2 year "Movement Mujeres" fellowship program under Deeds not words and the Jolt initiative started by former Texas Senator Wendy Davis and Jolt Executive director Cristina Tzintzun that serves as a platform for 25 women of color across the state of Texas to change the landscape of Texas Legislature.
